Fanfictions to Continue after May, maybe Youtube?

As May approaches, so does my graduation from UIC with my BS in Architecture. As such, I will finally be able to take the hiatus off my fanfictions and FINALLY finish them! Hopefully this journal will help motivate me to keep to this promise.

I also have plans for a Youtube Channel (Name: HarvestMoonFreak) where I will discuss and review every single Harvest Moon game there is, comparisons to similar titles like Stardew Valley and Runefactory, where the series could go, and whatever Harvest Moon!

If you'd like to follow it, I'll post here when my first video is posted. If you don't, power to you. I just think it will be a lot of fun to do, so I don't really mind if no one ends up seeing them.

I'll catch you all later, wish my luck in finding a firm to hire me!

Harvest Moon changing it's name?

I saw a post from. Natsume, something about changing the title of the series from "Harvest Moon" to "Story of Season" or something like that.

im devastated. I'll still be a devoted fan and buy them all, but I still need five more to complete the Harvest Moon collection! This was my life! How can you expect me to love this if I can't even call it the same thing?

granted, if the name is the only thing changing them of course I'll still be a devoted, obsessed fan, but seriously? WHY?!?!?!

1) What was your first Harvest Moon Game you played?

Harvest Moon 64 baby!

2) What is your favorite Harvest Moon game and why?

AWL. It's so completely simple and carefree and fun. I love it :)

3) Out of all the games from the harvest moon series, which one would 
you say has the best story line and why?

Oh gosh that's hard. I guess tree of tranquility. You have to save the tree to save the goddess, and to do that you have to make rainbow bridges and find different samplings and it was just so cute <3

4) What would be your favorite season in the game?

Summer without a doubt. My birthday, usually kids birthday, cool date festivals and swimming, cool scenery and events, Leia's birthday, etc.

5) In the lastest new game Harvest Moon A New Beginning, What is your Top 5 Favorite things you really like to do when playing the game?

Talking to Neil, watering with my upgraded can to the max, solving the town plans, using the mushroom jumps and stump transports, foraging 

6) What would you like to do besides growing crops and taking care of your animals. Examples Fishing, talking to the locals, mining, etc.

I do everything possible. Fish, talk, mine, forage, court, help, run, harvest, etc.

9) How long have you been a harvest moon fan?

Since I was 8. Started with the 64 and have been collecting the rest since.

10) If Natsume were to make a new harvest moon game, what would you like to see and why?

More kid events, events with more detail, planning and preparing and designing your wedding, kids being crosses between parents with different personalities, three kids max, paying bills and or taxes, easier to get clothes, more exciting heart events, reverse marriage proposal where they buy the item, etc.

11) If you ever pre-ordered a Harvest Moon Game, which plushie did you get first?

I have to black cats but they were gifts, my first pre-order after the cats was the Alpaca.

12) Which Gender do you recently play the most in the harvest moon series?

I play a boy if its only that and same with the girl. If you can be either and have two files I keep a girl one and a boy one, but I always get farther in the girl once since I am a girl.

13) Out of all the animals you would have to take care of, which barn animal would be your favorite and why?

Cows. Cows are just awesome no matter which game! I'd love to have a real cow.

Vicking Research

My obsession to How To Train Your Dragon has lead me to go online and research Vicking relationship since I'm curious about if DREAMWORKS will have Astrid in Hiccup marry, it wouldn't be American cerrimony, so what would it be like? I found all this cool info;

-The headband on Astrid's head and her type of briad is a symbol of her status as unmarried
-Her wedding will be the only time her hair is allowed to be seen unbound and left to fall down
-After marriage her hair will be put into a "wife braid", her headband saved for her daughter, and a linen cloth will wrap around her braid
-There are no special clothes for weddings, but the bride will wear a "bride crown" made from things of nature passed down in her family
-There is a bachelors and bachelorette party, but both involve a spiritual bath (cleansing) and advice from married people.
-While there is an exchange or rings and vows, there is also an exchange of swords, the groom passing down his family heirloom as a symbol of protecting her and their children until it is given to their sons for their wives, the bride passing down her family heirloom, accompanied by her father, to symbolize the movement of protection to her from her father to her husband.
-Weddings are mostly on Fridays, the day dedicated to the goddess of fertility, Freyja
-Most weddings are outdoors to invite the gods
-And animal sacrifice is usually made to Thor and Freyja, where the body is a part of the feast and the blood is brought to an altar for the gods, or the animal is left alive and saved as a "sacred" animal
-Celebrations last for a week, though the entire process stretches into two days
-Six people need to "witness" the couple in bed for the first time in the case that the marriage is doubted
-Those people bring the couple to the bed by torchlight so there is no confusion  to who the two are
-The groom must pay a "bride-price" three different times, while the bride must contribute a downery
-A contract is formed between the parents to wed the couple to form an alliance or increase social status. The couples have no choice, and fathers must console their daughters once telling them
-A special Mead is made for the couple to drink together for an entire month to ensure fertility
-Courtship is allowed as long as no pregnancy occurs, but it is highly dangerous to the male suitor as her entire lineage has the ability to kill him if her hurts her social status in any way
-Men are expected to make poems of love in almost every level of love, including courtship, wedding, and marriage.
-It is possible to get a divorce
-A man can have lovers along with his wife as long as they are of a dirt-level social status and pose no threat to the wife's.
-When entering the new house after marriage it is extremely important she does not trip on the threshold or it is a sign of ill luck from the gods, and the groom must take his sword and stab it into a mast holding the house and judge the dept, witch determines the future fortune of his family
-Love is not a concern, just "compatibility with one another"

If anyone has noticed yet, I've currently deleted all chapters of my Fanfiction, The Journey.

Don't worry, I deleted them because I'm rewriting the entire thing

I've made it a goal of mine to get all chapters done this summer so I can post one chapter every week once they are all done.

I'm doing the same with:
- the Journey's sequel, "The Journey Continues"
- a RioxNeil fanfic, "Fall For You"
- a pre-the Journey GrayxClaire fanfic, "Simple Song"
- and a TinaxJamiexRay fanfic, as well, "I Never Knew"

The Journey is going to be much better now, I've gotten an entire outline completed so I'd have all thoughts and ideas down this time instead of kind of winging it.

The story is going to alternate first person to a different main character every chapter, to keep it interesting, but the main plot revolves around Jack and a bit of Jill.

I'm sorry if I seriously disappointed anyone with what I had before but I promise you this time it will be different.

So please be on the lookout once fall comes and please give it a shot? I can't draw, so writing is all I have left.
